"We contacted Macdeck Landscaping when we had the idea of creating a decked area at the bottom of our garden, we wanted to turn an uneven and almost unused area of the garden into a space we would use. Tony listened to our ideas and suggested he went away with our thoughts and come back with a design. What he came back with was a brilliant concept way above our expectations. This included a sunken deck incorporating a fire pit. We now step down from the raised decking into a large square bench seated are with a large fire pit in the middle. "We approached Macdeck Landscaping for a large deck and patio area in our sloping garden after several quotes from contractors who were really not keen to do the work as we have limited and tricky access to the garden. It was so refreshing to hear Tony’s solutions to on site problems, he’s keen to work around constraints with inventive ideas, no problem too big. It’s really nice to contract someone who loves what they do and who is pushing the technology of what is available . Our finished deck and patio area is stunning, the reinforced glass barriers around the edge of the decking really finish it off well, our view of the garden isn’t obstructed and our one year old is safely contained. We added some extras such as storage, a standalone picket fence further down the garden and planters, none of this was a problem for Tony and his team. They really went the extra mile for us, even building a bike shed while they waited on a delivery. It was also one of the hottest summers we’ve had and they worked non-stop in full sun all day. We’ve had a fair bit of work done to the house and the team were the most professional, hardworking people we have encountered. They really care about their work and it’s reflected in the standard of their build and their willingness to adapt to requirements. "We wanted to have a decking platform erected using composite decking board with glazed balustrades, but found, that most contractors (5) we invited to tender for this work only tried to dissuade us form using composite board in favour of standard timber boarding construction, with standard balustrade, as they said composite decking boards were too difficult to work with. On our 6th attempt, Tony from MacDeck Landscaping called to discuss our project and was able to show us a list of completed projects carried out by his firm using composite decking together with his own bespoke glazed system. We also wanted him to use reclaimed oak floorboards we had acquired, to top the deck.
